How Deb's Laundrette handles your personal data, in line with UK GDPR.

Last updated: September 2026

1. Who we are

Deb's Laundrette ("we", "us") is a laundry pickup and delivery service based at 2 Moray Way, Romford, RM14 1YD. You can contact us at 01708 725009 or via our enquiry form. We are the data controller responsible for your personal data.

2. What data we collect

We only collect the information needed to arrange your pickup and delivery:
  • Name – to address you and identify your order.
  • Address – pickup and delivery addresses so our driver can reach you.
  • Phone number – to coordinate collections and deliveries.
  • Email address – to send order confirmations, tracking updates and replies to enquiries.
  • Order details – the service, preferences and any special instructions you provide.

When you book or track an order, you must be signed into your account so we can keep your data tied to you and no one else.

3. Why we collect it & how we use it

We use your data only to:
  • Schedule and complete your laundry pickup and delivery.
  • Send you confirmation, tracking and status notifications.
  • Respond to enquiries and provide customer support.
  • Fulfil our contract with you and meet legal record-keeping obligations.

We never sell your data to third parties.

4. How it is stored & protected

Your data is held securely in our booking system, which restricts access so that each customer can only see their own bookings, addresses and profile. Only authorised admin staff can view or manage all customer records. We do not store card numbers, bank account numbers, sort codes or any other full banking details — payments are processed through a secure payment provider, never stored in our app.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your order and account data for as long as your account is active, and for up to 6 years after your last order where retention is required for tax and accounting purposes. Enquiry messages are retained for up to 2 years. You can ask us to delete your data sooner (see below).

6. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
  • Access – ask what data we hold about you.
  • Rectification – correct anything that is inaccurate.
  • Erasure – ask us to delete your personal data.
  • Restriction or objection – limit how we use your data.
  • Data portability – receive your data in a reusable format.

You can view, edit or delete your own bookings and profile from your account. To request access to or deletion of your data, contact us at 01708 725009 or via our enquiry form, and we will respond within 30 days.

7. How we handle your laundry

  • Washing: We use the most professional cleaning products and do our utmost to remove up to 99% of stains. However, some stains — such as certain food stains, coffee stains and oil stains — may not be fully removable.
  • Drying: Some garments are not suitable for tumble drying. Please check the washing instructions on the care labels of your clothes. If an item is not appropriate for tumble drying, let us know in the special instructions window when placing your order.
  • Ironing: Items are pressed according to their fabric type and care-label guidance; please flag any items that should not be ironed in your special instructions.
  • Dry cleaning: Some items may react to the chemicals used in dry cleaning — particularly items carrying a specific cleaning-instruction label. Please share the care-label requirements so we can treat them accordingly.
  • Alterations: Alteration work is carried out to your stated requirements; please confirm the exact detail in your order notes so we can complete it as you expect.

Before any item is washed, our warehouse staff inspect everything. If we notice any stains, we will take a photograph for future reference, so we have a clear record of the item's condition when it arrived.

Please note that we do not take responsibility for any stains that are not removed, as set out in this policy.
